Our History

On 11 April 2017, Mr. Johann Swart acquired South End Trucking from its previous owners. Under his leadership, the company underwent significant expansion and strategic transformation, evolving into what is now known as South End Logistics. Through a strong commitment to service excellence, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction, South End Logistics established itself as a trusted provider within the transport and logistics industry.

In 2021, Mr. Marius Rust, Mr. Swart's son-in-law, joined South End Logistics. Having grown up in the transport industry, he brought valuable industry knowledge and experience to the business, contributing significantly to its continued growth and operational development.

Sadly, on 23 November 2021, Mr. Johann Swart passed away. His legacy, however, remains deeply embedded in the company’s culture and values.

Following his passing, Marius Rust assumed leadership of the business and continued building on his late father-in-law’s vision. Under his management, South End Logistics remained dedicated to the principles of integrity, reliability, and exceptional service that had become the foundation of the company.

In December 2023, Marius Rust made the decision to pursue new opportunities abroad and subsequently relocated overseas with his wife.

Following his departure, Mr. Schalk van der Westhuizen, a close family friend of the Swart family, joined South End Logistics. Through his experience, dedication, and commitment to the business, Schalk and Jan Heystek helped ensure continuity while supporting the company's ongoing growth and commitment to service excellence.

Today, South End Logistics continues to build on the strong foundation laid by Johann Swart, honouring his vision through professionalism, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to delivering reliable transport and logistics solutions throughout Southern Africa.
